What service do we provide?

  • Consultation for neuromuscular, neurometabolic and neurogenetic disorders.
  • EMG, nerve conduction studies, lumbar puncture, muscle biopsy and skin biopsy procedures.
  • Exercise and strength testing for children with the above conditions.
  • Genetic and metabolic consultation for neuromuscular and neurological disorders.
  • Development assessment (Dr. Teresa Carter).
  • Rehabilitation for aforementioned conditions.

Referral process

  • The referral process in made through a direct referral from a pediatrician, other specialist or a family doctor to a specialist.
  • Referrals can be faxed directly to the clinic.
  • All referrals are screened for suitability by one of the clinic doctors.

Clinic hours

The clinic hours are Monday to Friday (closed on holidays)

8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Urgent referrals

The clinics are not for emergencies.  If you need to be seen on an urgent basis, please contact your family doctor or go to your local emergency department.

Changing your appointment

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change your child's appointment or cancel the appointment.

What should you bring to the clinic?

  • Health Card for your child - the Ministry of Health requires us to validate your health card.
  • Any x-rays or letters from your doctor
  • Any notes or questions that you may have
