Hamilton, ON - April 30, 2009, McMaster Children's 6th annual Hospital Radiothon was a great success, raising over $225,000 in support of our world-class children's hospital. Over the last 6 years, $1.3 million has been raised due to Radiothon.

Children and families from all over our region participated in this day-long event by sharing their courageous and life-altering stories with listeners from near and far. Every year these stories amaze us with the strength of the human spirit and the capacity for caring at McMaster Children's Hospital.

"We want to extend a very special thank you to all of our supporters from across the region," said Dr. Peter Fitzgerald, President, McMaster Children's Hospital. "Your donations make an incredible difference to these children and their families at some of the most difficult times in their lives. All those that share their stories at Radiothon are an inspiration to us all and we thank them for having the courage to tell their stories."

A special thank you to Foresters, the title sponsor of the Radiothon, for their support. Foresters is a financial services organization inspired by helping children. Foresters' support means that every dollar raised during Radiothon stays in our community to support the work of our hospital.

Astral Media Radio - Hamilton stations: 102.9 K-Litefm, CKOC Oldies 1150 and Talk 820 joined forces once again with ForestersTM and Children's Miracle Network and the amazing patients, families and staff at McMaster Children's Hospital.
